You did not read the message correctly...


JSOW not JDAM... The JSOW is strictly bigger and has a longer tail with wider tailfins... It has problems on the centerline due to this, when the big bird rotates off the runway...

Typo central for me. I meant the JSOW. It's bigger then the 610 gallon fuel tanks they carry? I mean those are BIG suckers.

I do not know, however I do know the tail fin on the JSOW can drag if the F-15E departs with a major rotation angle, it is most likely due to the fins projecting downward at the same area on the fuel tank where it is curved upwards to the tail, thus the JSOW sits lower to the ground at that exact point...

Think they'll make a variant where the fins just fold down so it works with the F-15E on that hardpoint because its tucked in there so it shouldn't make my drag right?
