I've done a couple re-installs today of both FA and the toolkit.
Each time everything seems OK until I go to start the toolkit.
Then it starts to read the "envioroment" ie the FA files
and give the error "file not found"
and clicks out to desktop without starting.

Any ideals ???

OK got the tool kit going by useing a backed up install I wisely had saved.
Now I have a couple other questions.

First
It's been awhile since I've fiddled with the FA TK, so how do I get Files into projects when they are not in the .lib format. I.E. PIC and _SH files for planes.

Second
Can anybody help me find a couple planes?
I'd like to have both an F-5 Tiger and a A-4 Skyhawk in blue-gray aggressor camo. Anybody ever seen those around anywhere?

Well for your first question: You have to rebuild the ITEM.DAT file, a giant pain in the ass.

For your second question, go to my site, FA -> Dowloands -> Repositories -> Shapes & skins and see what you can find. I know there is an aggressor F-5 but i don't know about A-4.

Cent MAY still have my old F-5 aggressor skin and shape up there. The Skyhawk is an easy skin to work on, my desert skin should be up at Cents too, you could just repaint my colors from brown and tan to blues and grays.

I have whatever was submitted to me throughout the ages and that is quite a lot of stuff and I do recall seeing that somewhere in there Kap. I have a desert A-4 shape on the SSR and that can be transformed into an aggressor shape. The Shapes & Skins Repository is there for your using.

You can simply edit the ITEM.dat file in a text editor and copy a line with a similiar file(i.e. PIC file for a skin) then paste it and rename the file name (the *.PIC) to whatever the name of the new file is...

Then copy that new file into the project directory and you are good to go... it will be fully editable.. (except shapes)

CAG out...
