Speaking of TRUCK ...
Man I remember he had like 8 kids.
I used to tease him that he had to be ten feet tall ... LOL
BALTHAZAR is still hanging around the USVN site.
And get this, his WIFE (ANGELFIRE) is now helping to admin the place, and flys some F/A-18E, go figure ?
http://www.usvn.net/board/index.php?
CAMARO is now calling himself SKIPPER or something, and naturally I call him SKIPPY.
LOL
I still think CAG and TOPCAT are related somehow.
Always stirring up trouble everywhere I go, some things just never change.
I'm online most weekends and will fly with you anytime GRIP, just drop me a line if you decide to dig up your Stick, maybe we could go to HYPERLOBBY and show the new whipper-snappers some 2v2 from the old school.

ZEPHYR is one "cool beanz" guy and if you have any old lost files backed up covered with dust I'm almost certain he would be interested in getting them up and available via the FARC site that he maintains

Hi Hendog, I remember you. I was in the 13thGSF. I went by the name of Finesse13GSF. That squad broke up when Skoal left

Demingo and I ran the 420th Luftwaffe when Schlitz resigned. Avatar, Storm, Loopy, eXodus, Cheebah, El Diablo were some of our core group. As FA died thanks to EA, most interest died, due to lack of support by EA. Which really sucks.

If FA was ever churned out in another version by EA. Im sure you would see a resounding amount of people return.

Whats up all
Just did a google search on FA trying to find a few old buddies of mine. Glad that people still play this game. I'm in Iraq now, should be back in september, but if we get internet in our rooms here, I'll hope into HL and play some more.
Now that I know this place exists I'll check up in it a lot.

I definitely remember them, the JCN days are long gone. I see FA has faded even more too but I still have this site bookmarked. How is everything going as far as development/online play?

I see old players like Noop (The guy who flew the F-22 and got tuned by my Su-35 lol most times) and =Grip= (with the great mini site), I remember playing with you guys pretty well years ago alongside Kutha, VIPERUSA, Sir.Rip, my buddy Hawk/Delta from the 82nd and Black Sheep, and also Aggressor and even that hater El-Diablo.

Are there any big plans? I'm personally big into SOCOM 2/3 on the PS2 now and played SOF2 for a while back on the PC.

It sure would be nice if someone could program a game to match FA but simply provide a few more weapons, planes and graphics.

Hotshot I see you're still givin it all you got. I recall you booting me from the VNFAWING boards for some silly reason, but I hope I get some credit in your libs for my Afterburner style and also for my texturing work, as I am the guy who started "filling in" the canopies/cockpits. They sure did help the F-14 out, did you ever figure out if you could edit the shape of the F-16s terrible default canopy?

There is just so many games out there now that need a super computer to run or offer a bit too much when it comes to a flying shooter. (More sim-like) Fighter's Anthology will always be the best one in my opinion.

Take it easy though guys, and feel free to give me a shout.

Well I'm glad to hear I still got credit for that.

As for some of the new shapes I would love to see them from a few angles. Were you able to re-shape them dramatically. Ie. Give the F-16 Canopy a proper bubble and not a cone look. That is what I really would like to see first if you did adjust that. I didn't notice much difference in the pic of the F-16XL (its canopy).

I read the other thread too, and as for a webhost you might want to try a Canadian one, which would be cheaper for you too. The best one is netfirms.ca and they have some very nice prices and might have what you want. And they are not just some amateur host either. Get back to me if you can with any media aircraft shapes that might impress me.

It's a real shame we can't break this game down YET. It was released in 97? We have to be able to find someone who can easily "borrow" the program/coding. From there the first thing we would have to do is up the colour depth limitations and the sky is the limit from there. Maybe there are some forums around with people readily waiting for a project like this.

Maybe even EA can be contacted. The electronic age has advanced a fair bit.

Ohhh there ya go. You had to be really happy when you had that fixed. There was a handful of planes where the original developers simply flattened those canopies and crushed the shape up to cover the general area. The canopy looks great.

Now I keep touching on this but for FA's "future" do you think there is any hope anyone is going to be able to access the original code or reproduce it? And THEN do key things like slick new graphics?

It seems so possible for example, think about the amount of games that use the programming from Quake for making shooters right? Since the first time I heard you could customize FA all I wanted done was have the game left as is, have amazing but stable graphics and make the planes fly a bit faster/more realistically when it comes to speed in regular time. <That right there would have been the online gamer's dream. Especially for all the coop'rs and dogfighters (ef ABA lol).

You could probably get back AT LEAST a good 60 people playing to at least try it. And that is a lot considering the game's current state.
