DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO IMPLEMENT SOUNDS AT RANDOM TIMES DURING A MISSION, TO ACT AS IF YOU ARE TAKING ORDERS FROM THE TOWER OR TO MIMIC A CONVERSATION BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR WINGMAN OR ANY THING OF THAT SORT? BE GREATLY APPRECIATED IF SOMEONE COULD HELP :)

This may be possible by making a sound file play when a certain waypoint is reached. The first Ukraine campaign mission has a text message appear when the Aeroflight plane radios for help. Playing a sound may be similar, I receommend checking the Ukraine campaign's first .M file using the toolkit.

BTW, I think you should splurge on a new keyboard. :lol:

I second that! I would love to do that in DOTJA. Like when I'm in the
P-51 on a CAS mission, have my FAC greet me when I show up. Or have the Thunderjets I am escorting let me know when they are in over the target.

IIRC its related to the Ukraine map only, and based solely on that map and at a specific location.

There is no way to have a specific sound file play at specific waypoints currently...

Would if you could create a shape for an invisible plane/object? You could set it as "invisible on radar", "non-targetable", and turn off the collision options, so that the plane effectively would not exist except to send radio messages. You could then put that plane in your wing, and name it "FAC" or "AWACS" or whatever. If you play your cards right, you could effectively simulate messages from an AWACS or something. I would call this plane a "comm drone" or a "game drone".

You already have that in the game, if you dont have a winger or a backseater it just goes by a different name and certainly isnt waypoint related. You COULD goof with the call-outs you get with waypoint selections but that certainly wouldent be random.
You could also alter the in-flight music to voice recordings, we get different music according to "all is well" or being in a threat environment or mission completed.

I believe CAG mentioned doing something like this for FAF and I think it would work excellently. I may try to implement this as well.

Hmmm...I didn't know that. So how do I get this guy to work if I don't have a back seater or wingie? More importantly, how do I change his name to "FAC" or something?

And keep in mind that in DOTJA, your wing has no waypoints: you must find your own way, just like the real pilots of the Korean War. So I need to have a message play when *another* object reaches a waypoint. That's why I came up with the comm drone idea.

It all comes back to the same answer...

If you dont know how to hex edit, then dont even try to get changes like this to occur in the game...

Also it would do you some good to STOP and read the archives so you guys arent asking the same questins they asked 10 years ago...
