I made an interesting little find when I was editing the default Microwave tower to turn it into a functional rotating radar tower...

It seems the tower has a built in shadow. It doesnt have a "shadow shape" added into the object file, like aircraft do, instead this shadow is integrated into the actual shape file...

This is just like the large suspension bridge which also has integrated shadows...

I was able to manipulate this shadw and lift its corner, to test for game stability with the shadow moved and so far no problems...

This makes me one step closer to using this darkened transparency to create much more realeastic canopies for aircraft, that give the darkened look I have now with the dark grey texture, but also giving transparency, so you can see the pilot inside the cockpit, like on default aircraft shape, with with a visible canopy instead of no canopy like on default fa aircraft shapes...

Here is a pic of the raised shadow showing it can be a 3D shape and still be stable...
