I almost got divorced playing this game on my old XP computer even though my graphics card produced jerky action at times. I still have all of the old installation CD's for every Jane's flight simulator.
I still have my Thrustmaster F16 Flightstick which needs to be refurbished.
Should I refurbish that old XP system with a better graphics card?
Should I go through the work to get it to play on Windows 7?
Is there someone who refurbishes the old Thrustmaster joysticks?
Is there a better hardware combination out there within reason to buy?
Is there a site where all of the patches can be executed at one time?
Is there a gaming network like Steam which helps keep everyone up to date?
What I need is the shortest path to get this game installed and playable.
Help me get back to wasting my idle time pretending I am an ACE fighter pilot.
Next time think of a few questions before you post!
Sheesh you came with your guns loaded that is for sure!
I have no idea who refurbishes thrustmasters, though I do know it is done. Have you tried a google search under thrustmaster?
Getting a graphics card for your XP system (depending on what it is actually, as you did not list specs) is probably the most cost effective and easiest (again depending on system stats) solution for you to fly FA...
A good card will give you full frame rate even with FAF running at its highest settings...
There is only one "patch" and that is on the main site this forum is attached to. Perhaps you should browse it a bit before you ask any further questions...
In FA these days there is no "everyone" to keep up todate. If you want to follow the latest updates visit this forum and the main VNFAWING.com forum at
