Russia’s Su-75 Checkmate fifth-generation single-engine stealth fighter, with a top speed of Mach 1.8 to Mach 2; with a flight range of 3,000 km and a payload of 7.4 tons. The prototype is expected to have its first flight in 2023, and deliveries will begin in 2026.

The price of the Su-75 fighter is also very attractive, according to information, the price of this aircraft is only 25-30 million dollars.

The Su-75 Checkmate is also likely to come in an unmanned and two-seat version. Russian officials claim that the Su-75 Checkmate will compete with the US F-35 as well as the new Chinese fighter and other competitors in the international market.

The Su-75 Checkmate is smaller and cheaper than the Russian twin-engined Su-57 heavy stealth fighter. Compared to Su-57, the stealth ability of Checkmate will also be better. Aviation experts say that, from an aerodynamic design perspective, the smaller size of the Su-75 seems to help it have superior stealth capabilities than the Su-57.

As has been revealed, the Checkmate has a vertical V-shaped tail, quite similar to the layout of the F-35; and like the F-35, the Su-75 has a single engine. Likely, the Su-75 Checkmate will be the lightest of the 5th generation fighters, about the same weight as the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen and JF-17 Fierce Dragon, jointly developed by China and Pakistan.

In fact, single-engine fighters make up only a small number of the fighters produced in the world today. Compared to twin-engine fighters, the cost of a single-engine aircraft is lower, maintenance requirements and operating costs are also lower. The Su-75 Fighter jet is expected to face formidable opponents in the export market, especially the US F-35A. But the Checkmate is a lot cheaper, and the maneuverability seems to be better than the American fighter.

The main potential customers of the Su-75 Checkmate include Egypt, Iran, India, Vietnam, Belarus and several other countries in Africa. These countries all have a large number of traditional light or medium fighters, including the F-16, F-4, Mirage 2000 and MiG-29 fighters; or have a tradition of using Soviet/Russian fighters.

For several reasons, the Checkmate may be more attractive as a replacement for the MiG-29. The operating costs and maintenance requirements of the Su-75 Checkmate are likely to be lower than that of the MiG-29. Some former Soviet republics such as Belarus, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan as well as countries such as India, Iran, Syria, Serbia are still using MiG-29 fighters. Checkmate will be a great replacement for the aging MiG-29s.

Is it a real flyable plane or a fiberglass mock up like those Iranian fighters too small for a pilot?
For the price, is it made of common steel like their MIG 25 interceptor?
Are they using Chinese copies of our F-35 engines?

Another target for our US Navy aviators

Best Regards,
Pappy

Pappy its a mockup of something that doesn't exist. The Russians cant even keep at Su-57 in the air. They crashed and destroyed their second aircraft built just a short while ago after crashing two of their development aircraft. They have no money to build anything else.

Whole military is geared to the export market. Unless someone's going to buy it, best Russia can do is field a squadron or two and continue their procurement ADHD.
Unless whatever they show is a variant of the Su-30, I'm skeptical they'll do anything with it.
About the only shot the Su-57 has is if India or someone else commits to buy a lot of them.
India will want to build them domestically and Russia won't have a problem with that either because well, they need the $ to fund their own developments.
It's not like with Dassault and the Rafale where India wanted to build them and Dassault to warranty their absolutely horrible construction (Made in India makes Made in China look high quality).

Russia will develop the Checkmate fighter at its own expense

Presented at the opening of the MAKS 2021 exhibition, the fifth-generation Checkmate fighter is primarily intended for export. It will cost at least half as much as the Rafale and its design will be financed entirely by Russia.

Russia will independently finance the creation of the Checkmate fifth-generation fighter without the help of foreign investments, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov.

"It absolutely does not depend on foreign customers. Moreover, we have a fully established budget, both with the participation of the programs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and extra-budgetary funds of Rostec and OAC [Russian Aerospace Consortium, ed.] As for foreign participation, it is not excluded," he said on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

According to him, foreign customers will be able to finance the creation of a version of the two-seater aircraft.

"Foreign colleagues often ask for a two-seater solution. We can, for example, attract our foreign partners with a two-seat version. Even if, again, we can do it ourselves, it's a question of requirements," he explained.
The Checkmate will therefore be aimed primarily at foreign markets. However, integration of the aircraft into the Russian military should not be ruled out, Manturov said.
Its characteristics
The Checkmate light tactical aircraft, developed by the Unified Aeronautics Company (OAK, part of the state-owned Rostec Group), was presented at the MAKS air show in July. Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told reporters that Russia had its first customer.
The Checkmate fifth-generation single-engine light fighter will have a low radar signature. It is capable of striking from a high altitude (over 12,000 meters) and operating over a distance of 1,400 kilometers (compared to an average of 1,000 for its Western counterparts). Its maximum combat load will exceed seven tons. Its maximum speed will be up to twice that of sound. According to Rostec boss Sergei Chemezov, the plane will cost $25-30 million, while its counterparts, the French Rafale and Swedish Gripen, cost $60-90 million. Potential customers include countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North Africa.
The Checkmate is distinguished by its long wingspan, which increases its lift and allows it to fly higher than similar aircraft with smaller wings. This allows the aircraft to shoot farther than its competitors.

This isn't by the Russian Govt. Its by their aircraft manufacturer and they have no funding. Its all vaporware. Just like everything else this idiot mlad posts.

Containment of Russia is NATO's only remaining objective

Image

Interesting events are taking place in the region of the world known as the West. A summary of the situation gives a rather contradictory picture.

On the one hand, with the arrival of Joe Biden in the White House, the Western community is actively trying to re-establish its unity along the lines of the Cold War of the second half of the 20th century. To this end, an emphasis is being placed on ideology. When talking about disputes with China, Washington emphasizes the values aspect, not the geopolitical or economic one - the fight against autocracies, which seek to undermine the foundations of the liberal world order. Russia is also included in this category, and on the whole Moscow and Beijing create, according to the United States, a sufficiently frightening image to rally the somewhat bewildered Europeans around America. This was precisely the objective of Joe Biden's entire tour in June: to recruit allies and ideological friends to fight China, even if no one on the Old Continent wants to jump on these barricades.

On the other hand, Washington treats its European allies rather harshly. The withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, which has turned into a total confusion for all the actors of the international contingent, was organized without consulting the allies. They were presented with a fait accompli. The trilateral pact between the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia on a new military-technological alliance in the Pacific Ocean was prepared by the Anglo-Saxons behind the backs of all others.

France is the most offended, because it has lost, among other things, a huge contract. But the whole of continental Europe could see how much its opinion does not interest the United States. And this is demonstrated. Europe has once again spoken of the need to prepare a "plan B" in case the United States definitively gives up on security guarantees for the Old Continent. But there is still no clear idea of what that plan might look like.

Clearly, Washington pragmatically assumes that Europe has no other choice. And rightly so. Discussions about a possible "strategic autonomy" for Europe are accompanied by the obligatory mantra that it is not an alternative to NATO. But in this case, what can we talk about? Either the military alliance exists and is engaged in full-fledged planning of the necessary measures and resources, or it is just talk. But it is impossible to imagine a military structure in Europe that exists in parallel with NATO and practically coincides with NATO in its composition (without the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada). At least because the Europeans are already reluctantly spending money on NATO and will certainly not pay for another. While discussions about NATO's strategic autonomy are absurd: in a military-political organization must be a unified discipline and management.

In short, nothing would threaten NATO if it did not have a "but". NATO's only remaining common function is the containment of Russia. Everything else, including dealing with China, does not unite and instead disunites.

The assumption that Atlantic unity is not eternal and that the main partner could reorient itself to another region (Indo-Pacific) is causing growing nervousness in Europe. All the more so as the main European powers are going through complex internal transformations, against the background of which they particularly need stability on the external contour.

Germany, where a parliamentary election has just been held, ending the long era of Angela Merkel, is confronted with the need to reassess its place in Europe and the world. But it does not want to do so. The old model of living comfortably in the European ark under an Atlantic umbrella suited the Germans perfectly. They would like to leave everything as it is, but reality is becoming blurred.

It is even more complicated for France, where crucial elections are expected in the spring. There are many domestic problems, but on the external front Paris has found itself in a phase of frustration - from the broken contract with Australia to the statements of the authorities in Mali, a country considered by France to be its backyard. And on the whole the country has to solve its problems on the international scene by its own forces and rely only on itself, these problems concern the allies only very indirectly.

The West as a system of common interests based on Euro-Atlantic institutions seems to be on the verge of disappearing.
