Is there a way to change the Class of an object? My Low Blow radar (which has the hardpoints with S-125 missiles) has class Vehicle, so when I tested, it locked on to me fine, but it didn't fire; so I think I have to change the Class from Vehicle to SAM. But how? It won't let me do that in the Toolkit...

Never mind, I figured it out by comparing the NT files of various objects. Here's what I found:

;---------------- START OF OBJ_TYPE ----------------

;---------------- general info ----------------

byte 3
word 210
word 162
ptr ot_names
dword $821
word $1000 <<<----------
ptr shape

The one with the arrow matters. $200 is vehicle, $800 is tank, $1000 is SAM. I haven't looked at the other classes though. Change the value in Notepad and save, and the class is changed.

You know it might actually do you good to GO READ the FA tip sites so you dont keep asking questions for things that are already solved...

Cent has some, Zephyr does, as do a few other sites on the web...

How would I learn anything then? *g*

Besides. I do go over sometimes and look. This time, I figured I could figure it out. If I wouldn't have spotted this, I would have gone to look.

Another example of what I pointed out on the other thread... You may be able to master multiple languges, but you have no analytical capabilities to extrapolate anything...

Uh, not...I studied comparative linguistics. This is pure analysis and extrapolation...
