For those of you who haven't noticed, my Aerial Inferno: Taiwan website has increased in size considerably in the last few days, most notably the campaign information and screenshots area... please check them out if you haven't and give me some feedback...

Most importantly, who is interested in flying a Taiwan Theater Campaign anyway?

Everything is looking good, apperance is what makes libs and makes games and your on the right track Speed. Only complaint is simply the F-16... You need a screenshowing off your texturing, light source shading on with the sun on top of the plane doesn't work lol... make sure to take it up angle those wings by rolling left or right away from the sun then make like a tourist and click click click.

And to all library makers out there I dunno about this Korean theatre stuff bsaically because it is ripped off anyway heh But please let's eventually get to something with a little more eye candy terrainwse for example europe with some nice lush greens to fly over.

Well Jimbo, hate to break it to you but the terrain I'm using for the Taiwan theater comes from a Falcon 4 Map Upgrade ^_^ but thanks for your comments!

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/ops/taiwan-d-day.htm here's a interesting link comparing an amphibious invasion of Taiwan to D-Day...

Hmm... never did have a chance to use any of the Map Packs before, except for the one Wedge released somewhat recently...

Cent, did you upload it to the FA LIB Centers or something? 'Cause the current stuff made by them doesn't have the snow tipped mountains or rice paddies and stuff that I saw in screenshots on the CWF site...

And again, any feedback on AI: T? (Aren't I annoying? ^_^)

Jimbo,

You have alot to learn about how to phrase posts...

When you mouth off about something being 'ripped off' before doing any investigating or even asking the developer where his source originated or what permissions he has to do the work he does, it taints all the development that has already been done.

It just so happens that the FA Futures terrain comes from a variety of after development sources, all with permissions, to be implemented into FA...

I doubt others here have gone to the lengths that I have to obtain development permissions and then to protect them with libs that are fully locked down...

You, of all people, should not be making 'ripped off' remarks considering where you got the basis of the work you ahve used for your skins. They certainly are not a product of your own development.

Open source materials are just that, open source. But the difference between taking and developing all resides with obtaining permissions from the original developer vs just lifting them from a zip file for your own use. This is something I have taken great pains to impress upon Speedy with his works...

This is also what seperates FA Futures from alot of other developments in FA...

Whoa let’s hold on a second and give me a minute to justify this…

Negative CAG,
Nowhere in there did I mention the VNFAWING doing anything problematic. I wasn't mouthing off to Speedy or any developers at all when I said "ripped off" in fact I never have mouthed off to anyone in the FA community unless they provoked me too (GT did it in JCN for one). I was simply suggesting to any developer reading this post the idea of some European terrain rather then the terrain from F4 (so what if I didn't word exactly like that...let me explain).

The fact of this matter is, somewhere along the lines you decided to take offense to me saying "ripping off" as if I said stole without any credit given anywhere (something along those lines yes?) It is up to you to know my character and you should know bloody well I don't hate like you are seeming to do right now for some weird reason, and for you to say I have a lot to learn about wording my posts and still post yourself as if I said the negative possibility of what I said in truth, that is contradicting yourself, all you had to do was ask if you were unsure and ask, “what exactly do you mean Jimbo?”, which doesn't offend me the least bit I find that a lot easier to deal with than this, which I wasn’t going to but this is just too extreme.

Now, I rarely get upset but when someone assumes something false I find it rather insulting (on a FA level), not to mention I've been playing this game online since it came out in '97 and I've supported and flown FA online/offline to the fullest since then, not jumping ship like many others unfortunately did to leave a lot of us hanging on hoping for a “future” shall we say heh. So please try to understand this post a little more clearly now CAG and I have just a little something else to say about your shot at me before I too hit the submit button...

I don't do my own development? Well actually I edit every piece on my skins quite heavily, as it is impossible to do and have it all come together and you know that first hand... As for games like F4 where we do still take stuff from it doesn't matter at this point to me as they took the majority of the flying online FA community away and many old squadies and FA friends. I want nothing less than equality and this is an all-time low for us CAG to be having a conflict instead of enhancing FA so I want nothing more than equality and building all things stronger, anything else count me out of u know.

Nicely worded post...

The entire episode could have been easily avoided with the proper phrasing in the original message. You brought up a sore point between myself and Speedy, something from the past that you may not have been aware of.

Lets suffice it to say that as far as I currently know, it no longer applies in referrence to Speedy and myself.

Hopefully it will stay that way, and I apolgise if my sharp reply had a cutting edge.

As for your statement in reply to mine about your developments, this is exactly what I said below (typos and all)...

"considering where you got the basis of the work you ahve used for your skins. They certainly are not a product of your own development."

It is quite true that the basis of your work came from others and you developed it further to fit FA. I never said you did not do your own development, just the basis of it came from another source, which is entirely true. I think I just repeated myself? Either way, I think you now understand what I meant. And there is nothing wrong with doing that as long as you obtained permission to do so.

But using the words 'ripped off' in referrence to game addons and development can and usually will inspire reaction to the contrary. It was a poor choice of words on your part, no matter the meaning.

However this is an open forum and I am sure youmeant no harm (now) plus I do always reserve the right to disagree with anyone at any time on here, as long as I do it correctly and not as an atttack. That is the basis of communication...

Either way I meant no personal offense...

CAG out...

And for additional information to update you... A central, northern, and southern NATO campaign is under development for FA Futures. Tank is working on a new central euro map that I plan to modify to implement into FA Futures.

Also expect a new middle eastern map set with inclusion into the Campagin Manager for Israeli Wars and Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom...

Essentially the aim of FA Futures Campaign manager is to replace every map in default FA with high quality realeastic maps with associated in theater libraries of air components that will be available in the even of open hostilities in those areas for all combatants...

It's all gravy CAG.
Good all around news too about FA Futures. If you need any help in relation to the Library whether that is skins, research, testing or the website etc I'll be more than willing to lend a hand if it is within my ability. I'm currently flying solo and am assigned to no "organization" so if the VNFAWING team needs an outside member in any development I have no problem with that, however you guys might heh. In the meantime I'll be finishing this Sukhoi-33 "Sea Flanker" in the snow camo right now.

If anyone can get me a nice seamless snow terrain too that would be great for when test and take screenshots. Basically what I've done for my alpha jet ones is used a seamless forest tile and replaced the ocean tiles with it so I have endless texture outside that map heh.

Later

You know one thing we need to research with these maps is the setting of friendly/enemy. You know how if you set a friendly to an enemy they just go on and ground taxi if you put planes on the ground. This should be our next problem to solve. This is rather aggravating and the idea of putting an airbase set to a previous enemy shouldn't have to be the method to solve this. Maybe in your workings with this central Europe map you could figure it out Tank? I don't suppose it's very hard but I am sure it can be figured out within the map-making procedure. Hell they said we couldn't imitate the AIM-120 RWR style thingy but how easy was that solved.

Just somethign to think about....

I'm pretty sure the co-ordinates of where the jet is placed are right in the mission file. To test where each place is, simply place a maxium amount of different planes at ground level in the pro mission editor then check the mission file after you save for the co-ordinates. Not 100% positive that is exactly what you had in mind Cent, but that makes sense if so no? heh As for the planes starting to taxi automatically, that can be stopped by simply changing the "wait [0] minutes before starting" in the pro mission editor. I might be way off topic and not even realize it here but this sounds like a simple problem if I'm right.

What Centurian means that if you are on a map (Let's take the Ukraine map for an example) and if you change the Russians to Friendly, then the "Blue force" can land on the "Friendly" Russian bases, right?

Well, the problem with FA is that if you do that, any aircraft you put at the "Friendly" Russian bases will refuse to take off, instead taxiing to god knows where.

What I do to fix this (Other than creating a new map) is to put another airfield right on top of it whose nationality was friendly in the first place, and it looks fine most of the time... works fine too...

And Cent... sorry to bother you AGAIN but I request you please post the Map Pack on one of the FA LIB Centers... cause I really want to see it... and I can't see it if it's on Topcities...
