Hmmm impressive but what's the cost? Because if its about the same as a JDAM, how much of the world can be hit by a shell that flies 54nm, when JDAMs can be taken anywhere provided you have overflight rights. I realize there's a "niche" use for this but is the niche big enough?

The idea is for guided fire support during a beach invasion. The shells will be used to hit rear guards protecting the beach as well as initial protections. We're trying to get munitions for all occassions.

I think everyone here may be missing the point of what this 'niche' actually is...

How many shells can be fired per hour to saturate the area with guided munitions? Quite a few! Think fo the rate of fire... Think of the number of sorties aircraft would have to fly duplicate this, think of the support necessary to get them to target, the cost, the fuel, the pilots, all the support infrastrcuture.. vs one ship already built and these weapons simply stocked in its magazines...

Think of what one single ship can do to the same area in so small a time with this weapon!

You could never duplicate this with aircraft! Every bunker complex, sam installation, radar site, bridge, rail center, HQ, tunnel, comm complex, beach defense, etc could be hit by a single ship within an hour within the scope or range of this weapon...

It is absolutely revolutionary!!
