You mean OTHERS changed it... Poor old Kap is still awaiting help to fix this FM...

KAP why not base the FM on a new FM from another aircraft, like the SLUF, and then alter its visibility settings and use the F-117 cockpit and shape file... Wouldnt that cure it?

I guess that would cure his flight problem, but he would then have to work out the stealth characteristics of the aircraft on his own. I personaly do not know how to do it and have never had a need to.

Stealth emulation is quite easy in FA... Simply refer to the Iron Eagle PT file html page that both Zephyr and Cent have available and it points to sections for visible distance, RCS(Radar Cross Section), ICS(Infra Red Cross Section), LCS(Laser Cross Section) to limit the detection range for all these variables...

Edited to correct spelling error in Cent's name... (Sorry Cent!)

THNKX CAG, I'll look into it.

Hey CAG can you give me a few good newer games that can be edited (including shapes) that would be good to work with. I want to expand from FA into more modern sims. I have been thinking about CFS what do you guys think?

saying a modern plane cant fly without its FCS is like saying it cant fly without engines, it's TRUE but pointless.

nitpicking fact CAp Edwards crashed at Muroc dry lake, which is what it was called before the re-name

CAG yeah I could redo it from another plane but then you have the flaps control which the F-117 apparently doesnt have (somebody did this cause I specifically remember a F-117 in FA WITH flaps). Also I dont think the PT has enough control to make another plane as stealthy as the B2 or F-117 but it MIGHT

I'm not sweating this "shakes" thing it's just annoying

Well, I just got the same problem... with an F-104! It's weird, all I did was give it a custom HUD and .HUD file...

I am not sure what you are saying here Speedy... you have control problems becasue of a new HUD file??

Kap, its true on stealth capabilities... you can turn just about anything into a stealth aircraft with text editing the PT file...

yeah the more I think about it the more I think I'll re-do the F-117 from another PT cause the "screen shake" I believe is considered a "cheat" by the game .

You can get an F-117 WITHOUT the shakes above 260kts and WITHOUT the flaps thing showing up in the HUD by simply opening the F-117 you have now, and copying everything below:
:;---------------- START OF PLANE_TYPE ----------------

and pasting it into a new PT (I used the A-7, I doubt it makes any differance what you use)

then:
;---------------- START OF NPC_TYPE ----------------

dword $0
ptr ctName
byte 12
byte 32
byte 20
word 32767
word 0
byte 7 <-------reset to your old 117 hardpoints
ptr hards

then:
word 255
byte 30
byte 0
dword 29500 <-----reset to your old empty weight
word 199

;---------------- movement info ----------------

then:
word 20
word 60
dword 0 <--------you remove the "ptr hudName" and replace it with this "dword 0"

;---------------- END OF OBJ_TYPE ----------------

then you just reset your signature settings IR, RCS etc. and you got a stable Nighthawk!! :D

Well I think there is more to follow up... I have been looking into the source code to determine the effects of the problem with turbulence modelling...
