I just heard some gouge that we are using the T-38 for recon now?!?!?!? They said it is black with red markings but it sounds like the old RF-5 Tigereye to me. ANY news on this at all?

Sounds like a movie... Like the Black 'MiG-28s' from Topgun based on miramr F-5s and borrowed T-38s...

it's supposedly working out of Beale, I wonder if it's actually a tactics trainer or something for the U-2 which I think is based there

WQell, considering the airframe itself has a recon application and a sub variant with recon history (RF-5A) ... I would not be surprised to see them using the T-38s in that capacity... However, my understanding is that the Airforce Training Command does not have sufficient quantities of T-38s available to support their current demands, much less have an adquate number to allocate them to recon squadrons... So who knows? [/code]
