I have Windows XP Home Edition and am trying to load FA on it. I had it all going a few weeks ago, and for some reason it's not working anymore. I can get regular old FA to load, but when I put on the patch - this didn't happen a couple weeks ago - it won't load properly.

I get them weird lines going across the screen.

Is there a fix for this?

Whats the fix for this? Cent you should have an XP compatibility section in your FA addon PDF manual...

Cent and I tried to load the No-CD patch thing that was already upgraded for the 1.02 patch, then he sent me the files that the patch loads. It didn't work for me, so I'm kind of stuck with the original version of FA for now.

To bad EA won't come out with a fix on it's older games for Windows XP. Not like they aren't selling them in bundle packs.

Wait! Have you tried the new FA.exe no cd required bootable? It removes the necessity of using FANOCD (which does not work with XP by the way!) and allows you to boot FA without a CD in XP...

Yeah, it did not seem to work for me but I'm going to try it again.

I got to get a good laugh out of EA today when I contacted them for tech support. They still sell a lot of these games in bundle packs and are probably still making a good amount of pocket change with them, yet offer no fixes for anyone that still plays them.
