FA-2 Stage 1 (FA Futures 2) is going into effect! All new FA Futures development will be aimed at this new simulation! There will be several stages... Stage 1 is the upgrade of all default FA items into a new graphical environment. The replacement of all default items into new default FA libraries. This will include the upgrading of all maps, all aircraft, and all scenery, all vehicles, all weapons in default FA to FA Futures standard...

THe VNFAWING EGroup will serve as the hub for all activities...

ATTENTION ALL FA DEVELOPERS.... This is an open invitiation to have your work included into FA-2! Simply join the EGroup and send a message offering up your wares!

You development will be openly evaluated for acceptance to the new simulation. FA-2 will encompass all new maps, armed forces, throughout the FA world! If you have been working on your own nitch, your own campaign in your part of the world, then offer it up for evaluation! You may qualify for a complete section of FA-2 so the entire FA world, and perhaps the entire flight sim world, can see your work in the final version of the new simulation!

SQUADRON COs, if you want your squadrons patches or colors or updated versions of your special aircraft skins, please contrbute! Get your squadron to the forefront of the new simulation today!

I will be needing serious Beta Testers... This isnt like previous lib development... Even FA Futures current versions pale into insignifcance in comparison to this work. This is true and full development of a completely new flight simulator to carry on the tradition of the Janes Fighters Anthology by building up from the ashes of old FA! Like the Phoenix rising, the new simulation will carry on the old tradition!

heh, already cruising the page Cent! I am looking to upgrade anything out there that is beneficial to the current FA, so that it can contribute to the new FA-2...

Hi,

Well, I would like to offer my services for any research work on aircraft and weapons that you may need, since I assume that FA 2(Phoenix is a good name), you are going to include lots and lost of weapons systems and plabes from ALL over the world.

What I **plan** on doing is having the appropiate weapons available by theater/map... IndAF aircraft and weapons selectable if you are on the Pak/India Map, North Korean/South Korean (plus allies) availabel if you are on the NSK map, etc...

That way the buffer will not be overlaoded...

This should work out ok and it should keep players from using the other sides weapons on their aircraft (AA-10s on F-16s, etc)...

Hopefully it will all work out, but this is going to be tough and take some time up...

STAGE - 1 will simply be the complete update of default FA, so that defaut FA users can still enjoy all teh same aspects of FA that they are use to on every map within the game... Stage -2 will be the new coding to implement new aspects to the sim(new and better AI, new menu selections, more choices of objects, etc), Stage - 3 will be the all new shapes and new graphics engine, plus fully functional avionics, and cockpits in all realeastic parameters. New weapons shapes and performances, etc...

From there we will see what willb e next... all new additional maps and a dynamic campaign for each are tenatives for Stage - 4...

Is there anyway to get AI to attack MO targets only if you select that? I mean if you hit an airbase and there are only 4 MOs (the hangars lets say) can you make it so that when you hit ALT+W on the structures they only engage MO's or structures just like that is even better. Like if you tell them to engage HAS4 they won't go engage a control tower or HAS5 when you do ALT+W on the target.

Is this confusing?

I get what your sayin Cent, but I think you could only do that by having the wingers attack a particular "file name" rather than the "ICON class" which I think is what the game is doing now.

Well Cent, with the code the way it is now, no there isnt, becasue they attack all structures with teh alt w command. You could designate the target yourself and have them attack each one, then call them off after the bomb pass, but until Stage - 4 implementation, I dont think it would be possible...

Thought of something else as I do work on OPCR.

Is there a way to make certain weapons invoke certain HUDs. What I mean by this is can you bring up the HAB crosshairs for a bomb and a CCIP for another without changing the actual A/C HUD. This would work well with TARPS pods and such. I am adding one for OPCR, not that it can do anything but imagine if you selected the TARPS and it went to HAB so that you could theoretically take pictures and such. They can do about 200 digital pictures. If we could do that then maybe reconnaissance missions could be possible in such a way that when you click the trigger it takes a full screenshot of the target (800x600 or 640x480 or whatever) and puts it into your directory and if you get sufficient ones you can get an MA.

What do you think?

Interesting idea and it has merit. Something we definately need to add to the list. However, at this stage, I would have no idea on how we could implement it into Stage 1 or 2... This is also probably a Stage 3 or 4 upgrade wtih the new game code...

a question and a request. WHY does the M1939.NT AAA take off like a rabbid monkey, roaming the countryside like a zombie or something AFTER you blow it up???

and more importantly, can we get an inflight wingman command to "formation left" ? I like to keep my wingers on the lee side of SAMs and you cant always do that with the onesided(rightside) "echelon" formation command.

Gentlemen,

Greetings from Australia!

I used to fly Marine Fighters, and every rendition to FA.

I was in the 13GSF squad, headed by Skoalboy.

I am pleased to hear of FA2.

I have been thinking that the original flight models would still be fun today, it just needs a graphice update.

If I buy another copy of FA1, where can I 'meet' other players for an online game?
