Here is what I do when I build campaigns, just hoping it helps Fetch and a few others out.

First I research all of the information (what a/c they have) and so on and so fourth. I print some out, I memorize others. Then I write it all down in text doc's as such:

USAF
F-15C
F-15E
F-16C

etc

ENEMY AF
MiG-21bis [30]:

Now for this part I put slashes in the area after the 30 and when 30 is up, that a/c is no longer used. For Cuban Response I am doing it by airbase so whatever is at a particular airbase gets the breakdown.

Then I print these out and do the LIB. After that is done I do some testing and then on to the missions (further testing just by adding objects and weapons throughout the entire mission building process).

Then I write the missions out in short form

F011 - 2F-14B - BARCAP - 3/17 - 0645
:: this is mission file name f011 (obviously #11). Player AC is F-14B with 2 in the wing. Mission is BARCAP. Date and time follow.
-PATROL GW (xxxxxx)
:: then their mission explained with the xxxx being enemy a/c
2F-18C -> ASHIP PATROL (2x Osa)
:: wing bravo
2F-14D -> BARCAP (4x MiG-29, ...)
:: wing charlie
2F-18C -> ASHIP PATROL (2x Osa)
:: wing delta

So basically it'll look like this

F011 - 2F14B - BARCAP - 3/17 - 0645
-Patrol GW (2x Mi-24, 2x Ka-28 -> Cienfueg; 3x MiG-23BN, 5x F-7 -> Guin)
-2 F18C - ASHP Patrol GW (2x Osa)
-2 F14D - BARCAP ST (4x MiG-29 -> Jose; 5x MiG-23BN -> SCla)
-2 F18C - ASHP Patrol ST (2x Osa)

It's pretty much only decipherable if you have all the information and know my style of doing it but it's a base example and such for your own use. I write out all missions or however many in a set, staple them together and just go through it, mission by mission so that it is rather easy. It helps because I have the mission in mind when I write it and the setup so it cuts off A LOT of time when I go to actually make the mission in the PMC.

Hope this can help you out. It's how I've done every campaign ever. Some of those documents get large though (I write them all out instead of type). Korean Resolve was a lot of pages and Cuban Response is currently 10 pages. I use front and back so it's 20. If I split a page in two I can get 10 missions (5 on each side) so 20 per sheet of paper. I kinda strayed a little with CR and did only some with 5 on the page just because I got lazy but you know what I mean. TRUD was rather extensive too, especially for a 25 mission set. WOT was short because there wasn't much information. It's all organized though and that is the key to making the campaign, if you have it all organized before hand it's really easy. I've dropped many campaign ideas just because I couldn't organize it effectively.

PS: Test your mission, if it is SP, after you complete it to make sure it can be done. If it's MP you have to guesstimate if you'll be able to do it (thus why I put the difficult level 1 - 5 stars (5 being hardest) and the minimum requirement so it looks like this: Multiplayer Mission 4-Person ***** [4 person minimum for a difficulty 5 mission [very hard]]).

This sounds like a good solid logical approach to the campaign issues.

You should merge this into your tips area of your site...
