Anybody with the F-14 as anything knows good taste. After all Grumman IS a NY company. Responsible for many great aircraft: Tomcat, Lunar Lander, Intruder, Raven, etc.

I've been down to STL. Came in on a plane there to go to the 369th reunion. Saw the Boeing factory out there and some ANG F-15Cs on the TARMAC too. But hell, not every place can make the F-105, A-10, F-14, A-6, EF-111, and lunar lander. Hell everyone is so jealous of NY. We rule!!!

LOL!

Still, Lockheed Martin is the largest defense contractor in the world.. The production facilities in the metroplex are the largest anywhere and the biggest contracts the world has ever seen for military aircraft production since the F-86 are coming from Lockheed Martin.

The F-16 has out produced all other jets in production numbers the world over. Soon to be followed by an even bigger contract for the JSF, and of course do not forget the best Fighter EVER made is the F-22... It can turn circles around anything else in the sky...

And you will never see it coming! heh...

Grumman will soon be out of the manned military aircraft business, as they do not have any further production contracts. Their days as the premier USN aircraft producer are long over...

Boeing can barely claim any production, with just the F-15K and the F-18E/F as current projects for manned military aircraft.

And the F-15K is over 80% offsets to the South Korea Aerospace companies for production...

While lockheed Martin will be producing over 8,000 military manned jets in the next 10 or so years...

You talk about history? The F-111, SR-71, U-2, B-36 to name but a few, were all produced here along with the beatuies listed above...

The largest SAC base(more B-36s, 47s, and 52s then any other base), Carswell AFB, was here, now a populated triservice reserve base...

However living in the past does you no good Cent, and Grumman is basically gone as a manned military jet producer...

I cried the day they announced Grumman was leaving NY man. I remember the newspaper vividly, had an F-14 surrounded by a ton of people with it's wings swept. Sad, sad day. NY sitll rules though. After all the past writes the future.
