Does anybody have any ideas for making decoys that can be launched from an aircraft? What about sea mines?

Have you ever read any of the tech tips for FA editing? If not then I suggest you go RTFM on these tips at Zephyr's FARC site and on Cent's Theforsakenoutlaw.com website...

Plus combine your questions into one string...

There's no way that I know of to make launchable decoys. ECM can only stay on the aircraft, and AI will not target weaponry. And BTW this tip is not in my editing tips and Centurians tips are down for compilation, if this tip is even in there.

Exactly and if he had combined his multiple questions into one string it could have all been answered at once ...

However there is a tip on this topic, sort of... since FA alters the preceived size of the target to the missile head, when jammers are used, it in itself simulates a decoy... since the missile is still locked on, but flies to a point behind where the actual aircraft is, thus emulating a towed decoy target lure for the warhead...

Is it possible to add a hook to an aircraft, such as a B-1b, and edit the graphics to make the hook look like a towed decoy?

Shape eiditing has just begun on FA... We wasted wuite a huge amount of time thinking it was impossible, until Hotfrog opened our eyes... since then I have been altering an average of 3 shapes a day...

However to add the towed decoy to the B-1... I dont know, its beyound my meager skills at the moment, but my capabilites are increasing daily so perhaps in the not to distant future we can model it...

Along with drag chutes for landing... air droppable supplies and vehicles...

The possibilites are nearly limitless right now...

I actually think an air launched decoy IS possible. There are at least 2 drones in FA that appear to be fighter aircraft but are not, if this coding can be installed in a JT then we have a base for Quail for B-52 (vintage) and TALD and MALD(modern).

I was thinking perhaps have a weapon that uses a huge invisible shape, and drops below the aircraft and maintains speed. If the weapon is "collidable", then incoming SAMs could hit it instead of the target aircraft. The target/launching aircraft would have to be sure not to manuever into the decoy- maybe have alot of decoys loaded, and keep launching decoys seconds before missile impact, and the missile hitting it should remove it from the game. A crude method but physically works.

That might work, and with my recently increased knowledge on shape editing I could create a quail or such vehicle, but they are not towed...

A towed decoy would have to be invisible and then become visible strung out behind the aircraft...

Now thatwould be a challenge!
