Post subject:  IFF Transponder

I was reading the FA manual, and it said that some aircraft may not have a IFF transponder. Is there an option in the .PT file where I can add or remove a IFF transponder?

I dont know, but this is a good question... I have not seen it listed in the detailed PT file description, but i have found that file to be in error in some of the areas anyway...

Kap, Zephyr... have either of you experimented with this?

CAG out...

I dont remember ever querrying a plane and NOT getting either a freiendly or "cant interogate" reply which is what you would get from an enemy plane.

Well on friendly you get friendly and on non-friendly you get unknown. Over 100 miles, regardless of what it is is can't interrogate.

You get the cant interrogate also on aircraft that do not have transponders... according to what FA manual thinks, but that may not be supported anylonger since the 1.02F patch. They removed some unstable functionality with that patch...

By default though they all have them in stock FA. There has to be an option in the PT file to turn that off though. It's probably a 0 / 1 statement.
