Update on SS-N-19 Skipwreck (a.k.a. P-700 Granat)... I ended up having to use the SU-7 shape instead... I was able to eliminate the cockpit sections, 95% of the wings to form the forward canards, and sections of the tail to more realeastically model the ramjet missile... It launches vertcally from the Kirov class Cruisers(from the forward missile bays) and the Oscar class submarines... It then arcs slowly over to cruise height.. The missile cruises at Mach 1.8 at 40K feet until within 22 miles of the target, then it drops to 8K feet for the final run in to target.. It is targettable and you can shoot it down if you get close enough to it to engage it with missiles or cannon. The Kirov's/Oscar's fire them in pairs continuously until the target is either destroyed or the launch bays are exhausted... The missiles fire every 10 seconds... CAG out... |

Ideas I should have thought of but hell good work. Can't wait to blow them up mid-air with an AIM-9X. |

BTW I have also successfully created Fixed Position SCUD sites with scud missiles in the launch position next to a new missile gantry.... and no SCUD vehicle... the missile fires off the launch tower... so its a great asset for mission building to hit the fixed sites before they fire chemical warheads on advancing troops... Also I made a SLBM/IRBM missile by removing the control fins on the scud missile shape and loaded it into the SSBN and the missile silos in FAF Korea. All three stages of the missile shape have no tail fins... CAG out... |
