okay, i usually edit my aircraft textures first then i make the shape rename it etc... but with some aircraft, i have to use airbrush because some parts i can't paint, but with my F-14, when I use airbrush and just paint the nose and all, my whole F-14 shape just becomes invisible during game play, only the shadow? am i going about this procedure in the wrong order?? |

There are many shapes in FA which cannot be edited using Airbrush. IIRC CAG Hotshot found a way around this by recompiling the shape files. Some people have also had luck editing shapes which failed for other people. Whether this was a fluke or they were following a different procedure, I am not sure. Make sure that when you color shapes with Airbrush, the texture file is also in the Airbrush directory, and is correctly referenced by the shape file. Sometimes shapes can be colored in Airbrush 0.1 Alpha that cannot be colored in 0.8 Beta. I colored my IIAF F-14 tan using the Alpha. The Alpha's capabilities are more limited by it is generally more compatible. Zephyr |

i think my problem is somehow when I use air brush (on my other comp) to color the specific parts of my F-14, it somehow turns my object texture to 255,255,0 and makes the whole shape invisible? is that possible?? |

Homeboy you are WRONG (again)... Texture files dont make shapes invisible... The error is in the very first line of the newly colored shape... Most likely the line has become corrupted and reads... 00000000 205A 8000 0100 0000 0400 0000 FFFF 0000 Z.............. or something similiar That line should read... 00000000 4D5A 8000 0100 0000 0400 0000 FFFF 0000 MZ.............. Simply add the missing M or Z back to the line (to display MZ as above) and ti will make the shape visible again... BTW this fix was discussed on the forum archives previously, so have you read both of the old forums? CAG out... |
