Post subject:  Game crashes when I install my new lib

Hi. I created a new lib for FA and when I install it, the game crashes a few seconds after I run it or when I click any of the options from the main menu. The lib was made a couple years ago but I added two items to it and rebuilt it. I'm using 1.02F, Windows XP, 80 gigs of HD, 768 megs RAM, Nvidia GEForce FX 5200 graphics card. When I remove the FA_0 lib the game works just fine. How can I make my lib compatible?

I know this sounds stupid but once again it worked for me when I switched to XP. CDTs until I added a navy plane or AMRAAM to my LIBs. Sometimes just one of them worked sometimes I needed both < shrugg >.

Try copying some of the lib objects to a separate toolkit project, deleting them from the original project, and build both libs (renaming of course to avoid an overwrite) so both are in the FA directory. If the problem just manifested after a recent modification, you can narrow down what you need to move to the latest things you edited.

Hi all... I am new to the forum but back in the day I used to play FA and mod with FATK quite a bit. Just recently found the game again and am trying to give it another shot.

I have installed FATK and just as a test, I made one modification... just changed the name of te F-15E by deleting a space in the name. Now the game crashed with the new FA_0 lib with just that one small change. Same symptom as below. Can anyone help? Again I just made one change to the F-15E file and installed the lib

Just for more info... I tried adding an AMRAAM to the file per another post's suggestion, no luck. I am running XP and V1.02 of FA

As I have mentioned on many previous posts...

WHEN CREATING LIBS IN XP, YOU NEED TO HAVE THE OBJECT AND ALL ASSOCIATED FILES INCLUDED IN THE LIBRARY FILE FOR IT TO WORK. SO YOU NEED THE PT FILE(AIRCRAFT) OR THE NT FILE (VEHICLE), ETC, THE PIC FILE(SKIN), AND THE SH FILE (SHAPE) IF YOU ARE USING A NEW EDITED OR NEW COLORED SHAPE, FOR COMPLETE STABILITY.
