i have bought a new pc with home premium on it and now decided to install fa on it. it was a disaster at first but i eventually copy pasted fa from my xp pc to the vista. it runs ok except for some parts it fails to show videos in ukraine campaign. anyway now i wanna install fatk and i cant. when i run fatk and enter my auth number i get "error = 58" and i get can't open "c:\windows\fatk.ini" and finally path/file access error and a crash to desktop. can anyone please help me? how do i install FATK on vista? my system: amd turion x2 mobile nvidia go 6150 288mb video card 1gb of memory 120gb sata hard drive vista home premium Fighters Anthology 1.02 |

Have no idea how you do it, but did you run a new authorization code off your vista system or are you using your old code? |

I got the TK installed on my vista system, the only thing I can't do with it is edit maps... try reinstalling the TK, if that doesn't work, download it again and disable your UAC*/Run as Administrator for the installation. *UAC = Poo. |

damn sound recorder is different in vista. this will make sound editing difficult. and of course the video for the ukraine campaign doesn't work. i get a CTD and error "Could not set video mode 1". i think this has to do with my video card? i have a widescreen wxga and a go 6150 288mb video card at 1280 by 800. but the intro video works fine! |

I found most of Vista's included software somewhat lacking in the usefulness department... As much as I hate to say this though, Vista really isn't _that bad_... I have a similar situation with my laptop too. The screen resolution is something wacky like 1200x800 (3:2??? eh???) and I can't scale the image down to native resolution like I could with my old laptop. I'll give the ukraine campaign a shot sometime, might be able to come up with a quick hack to fix it. |

VISTA is a nightwmare for use on corporate networks due to how much it slows down use via its worthless security interface... |

It's good for unintentional stuff, but for everyday work it's a beast. The BSD, Solaris, and Linux networking stacks are vastly superior to Windows' nonsense. Especially in terms of IPv6 support. |
