Hi All:

Elsewhere on this forum (sorry, no link handy) I read that the AA2.JT object will cause a CTD (crash to desktop) when selected with FA-NOCD. I was wondering if there are any other FA objects known to cause stability problems, with or without FA-NOCD?

Thanks,

Eric L. Howes

I have had CTDs with the Su-35 shapes when viewing externally. Particularly the blue shape.

I know this isn't quite what you asked, but I use "Power ISO" and I make a .daa disk image and mount the image on a virtual drive. I haven't noticed any CTDs with the object you mentioned, though I do get CTDs during intense battles, usually with a large number of explosions and lots of ordnance being dumped.

JJ your issue is due to the FA memory leak, whcih causes the game to destabilize when the available ram drops below an acceptible level...

Shape related C T Ds can be caused by the shape itself of its skin file, in relation to the type of graphical card and drivers you are using and your operating system...

The detailed su35 and Mig29 shapes can cause C T Ds, but the aa2 is not shape realted its due to an error in the code when used the aa2 weapon when using FA-NOCD ...

CAG Hotshot:

Is there any known fix or workaround for the memory leak issue? How are you addressing that issue (if at all) in FAF Korea?

Thanks,

Eric L. Howes

I am attempting to isolate the memory leak, but it will likely take a complete rebuild of the sim.

I have not yet determined if I can incorporate that into the FAF rebuilds or not...
