Is there a way to modify the plane selection screen for a mission?

What exactly do you want to change?

I want to make a mission where you can choose and airplane from the choose plane screen and only put those planes I want on that screen.

I dont think that is possible. All you can do is restrict the choice to one era.

However in campaigns it is possible to have a preselected choice of planes. So you could just create a campaign and only make your choice of planes available to the pilot. You'd have to have the required number of missions for a campaign, though, but you could just copy the one mission you are working on and make the campaign consist of just that mission.

If you have the toolkit, you could make just the planes you want to use flyable and the rest nonflyable.

My question is somewhat the same. I've started a Vietnam campaign and instead of flying the F-4J I want to use the A-4 but when I "cheat" and bring up the "select your aircraft" it pops up with the B-2, AC-130, F-16, X32. Is there a way to bring up the 10 page list of aircraft to choose from like in a single or quick mission? Or do i need to edit it with the toolkit? Thanks.

For campaigns you're restricted to the aircraft marked "flyable." To my knowledge there is no way to bring up the complete list of aircraft in the "Select Plane" screen for campaigns. The A-4E is not a flyable aircraft in the stock FA, so it doesn't appear in the "Select Plane" screen.

As gosshawk suggested, you could use the FA Toolkit to make the A-4E (and other aircraft) flyable -- and perhaps mark default flyable aircraft as non-flyable so that they wouldn't appear in the "Select Plane" screen. You'd then need to build a LIB with your customized aircraft.

You can hex edit the campaign files to make any aircraft flyable, as long as you dont exceed the original number of available aircraft types for that campaign...

I believe there are tips to this effect on the FARC.

Zephyr should be able to point you to them...

Good luck with that.
