After a through examination of all the work necessary for FA-2 I have come to the conclusion, that even with additional help, FA - 2 implementation may take the better part of a year...

The sheer number of files that need to be updated and/or replaced. The detail work necessary to make realeastic maps (It took me all weekend long just to make 3 realeastic mountians, with new elevations and placment on the FA Futures Korean Map around Seoul), new skins for vehicles and aircraft, multiple versions for all teh theaters and somw with winter versions, that this project will take longer to implement then I first thought. Coupled with the fact taht at work I am buried at about 60 + hours weekly...

The best solution would be for all developers to contribute. Without the help of the entire community this project could simply take to lonbg to build, test and release...

I'm in. I just want to stress though that my experience is pretty limited to research at this point. I'd be willing to learn techniques if anyone develops a "manual" of sorts.
If you need research done, just let me know and I'll get right on it.

I never got into maps because of the limitations in TK, so I dont know thing one about them. But maybee I can learn.

Would it be possible just as a first step to only update the original terrain to say, better textures.

Perhaps a program can be written that transfers original terrain code to new terrain code, so it could be done largely automatically.

Then that can be released as a teaser, within a reasonable time frame.

The original flight models and avionics are still fun.

Have you flown FA Futures yet? New terrain, weapons, FMs, and skins...

Plus the default FMs in FA are so wrong as to compare the aircraft to flying saucers...

Ther is no effects from gravity, the power settings are all awrong, the drag ce-efficients are all wrong, the harpoints are all wrong... The list of what is wrong with basic FA is to long to even list if I had an hours time to write this response...
