I'm thinking of, for GR613, doing a campaign to replace the Ukrainian one. It'll feature the same amount of missions (50) but does anyone have any ideas or requests?

Maybe something historical?

Ideas:

1. If you can manage the map, a Sri Lanka campaign, where Indian AF Hinds, Mi-8s etc were used. This campaign can only be based on choppers, so will add a new dimension, as most campaigns are based on fighters.
The campaign would also be short 20 missions max. If you dont want to sticjk with actual history, you could also extrapolate the campaign to add elements of CAP, escort and napalm.

2. Bush wars: South Africa, Angola, the works, again if you can manage the maps.

3. India Pakistan ( ) 1971, where you had MiG-21 F-13s and Folland Gnats against Mirage IIIs, F 86s and the J-6.

4. If you want a really far-out campaign, you could also try a fully naval campaign, with the user in charge of a gunboat/ ship. That would be tough, but if you could manage, it would be awesome!

5. 1980s Iran Iraq, I PGW, the original Gulf war. Amazing material at www.acig.org, lotsa common planes, real scenarios.

South Africa would be interesting from what I have heard.

Iran-Iraq would probably be the easiest in terms of required map and objects. Its also a scenario which is still pretty fresh, considering the map is included in FA. The same goes for India-Pakistan, although lots of new objects would be needed there.

It is hard to create any number of chopper missions without causing boredom, because of the size of the terrain tiles in FA. Piloting a patrol boat would be even worse I think. The only interesting mission there could maybe be a defense against an enemy airstrike.

I dont agree that a chopper mission would be boring, a 20 minute mission involving dodging RBS 70s, SA 16s, Anzas, shooting off your own gun, ATGMs and rockets, would be a break from the normal flying-at-15000-feet-dropping-JDAMs kinda missions that are common in FA. The environment would be different, the takeoff would be from the small airport/ landing strip. You could even have missions where you could mow down infantry, and even base patrol missions. It wont be "sexy", but it'll still be very real.

A gunboat/ ship mission might be boring however, depending on what missions, it is taked to. If you control a BB and are bombing a shore target, in full view of the enmy, then it might make it interesting.

All depends on what the mission is.

not related to Cents post, but I have a string of missions JUST for slow movers (helos, AC-130, A-10 etc) but I can never find time to work on them it's very tricky to work out a mission like that.

India Pakistan will be featured in WWIII so I'm staying away from that. Iran-Iraq is good but I don't think I can do 50 missions on it. I had done an Iran-Iraq thing once with some fictional missions a while back. The problem is that there isn't really anything you can find on the internet about missions flown. Or is there? ACIG has stuff but nothing too concrete. As far as African campaigns. Angola would be awesome. No map. I like the gunboat idea but as a policy with GR6 no drivable .NT objects because I think they are silly.

I've been thinking about a semi-historic NATO campaign in Bosnia. The difficulty of the missions would not have to be a strong enemy but rather political correctness.

I've always found it interesting to fly missions in which you had to worry about collateral damage or where the existence of similar friendly and enemy units required visual ID. 50 missions in such a scenario would require a lot of phantasy though.

Of course it could include lots of different planes as the player aircraft. Thinking of F18s, the JAG, Tornado, ...

I have some spectular Helo missions built for the FAF Campagin Manager involving both UH-60s, AH-64s, Mi-24s, and Mi-8s, along with extensive armor, artillery, CAS jets, and SAM/AAA...

I also have a set of forward strike USMC missions involving massive envelopment with CH-46s, V-22, and AH-1s... along with Harriers and F/A-18s against Mi-24s, Ka-50s, and SU-25s, again with extensive armor, artillery, SAM/AAA and enemy MiG-21 jets fighters involved...

I find that Good helo missions taking advantage of the new terrain masking in FAF make quite interesting missions...

Since the late 50s/early 60s were marked with little actual war and more Cold War hype (excluding Cuban Missile Crisis), why don't you create a fictional WWIII that occurs in let's say, 1956-59. UN vs. China/USSR. The UN could be limited by trying not to use nukes, and the Chinese/Russians would be no holds barred. The UN should probably win, but you could make it interesting by having them get pretty soundly whipped early on (no Washington getting nuked though...)
