Any chance you can make realistic refueling tankers in FA Futures, the KC-10, KC-135, KC-130, and russian Midas, with booms and/or drogues with your new found skills in shape editing CAG.

I think that would be a cool addition to Futures :D

Hey CAG...

Do you think that you could make a realistic (as in what the USAF is really going to use) skin for the F-22 (now FA-22) camoflague. Before, this wasn't possible because the skin file only covered small parts, but I think you said you could do something about it now.

Anyway, I am talking about the gray on gray camo as seen here...

Also, the FS-X (F-2A) could use a new camo job. Namely, the blue on blue as seen here:

They should have kept the YF-22 camo for the F/A-22. I understand it isn't really camoflauge but damn it made that aircraft look oh so sexy!

Is this the "camo" you mean Cent?

Yeah, it's pretty cool looking, but the YF-22 itself kinda looks like the FA-22's flabby, unathletic younger brother.

could you remove the horizontal and vertical stabilizers from the F-22 to make the X-44?

I know this is only a conceptual rendering, but I think it could be easly reproduced by removing the F-22's horizontal and vertical stabilizers from the model completely and nothing more.

Also, remember, these are only suggestions. I don't want to sound pushy or anything.

Apparently the site I had posted that pic from this morning has gone down during the duration of this day!

Here is a link to another sufficient picture...

And the answers are...

1) Making refuel probes is on the list, I do not know yet whether it is practical or not...

2A) Making a new skin for the F/A-22 may require a completely new shape file, since that shape has no skin file over a majority of the fuselage, and I do not know yet if I can actually ADD skins to an area where no skin existed previously...

That will require furhter testing before I can answer that...

But if possible then yes it will be done...

2B) I already have a detailed skin for the F-2 in FAF now, but it will require some changes to the F-16 shape to better represent the larger Japanese F-2... (have you not tested FAF to see the JASDF F-2?)

3) Yes it would be very simple to create the bomber version of the F/A-22, should I decide to do so ...

I will be experimenting with the refuel probe on the KC-135 this upcoming weekend...

And I warn you, though I may be able to create a probe, it probably will not have the 'winglets' you are used to seeing on the 'flying boom', and that is if I am able to create it at all...

Also the probe will always be in the 'down' position, as there is no DLL command string for extending and retracting the proble... If possible I may be ablt to tie it into the airbrake control, but there are no promises there...

I dont know yet about animated segements of the shape, that will require further study, so there may be an initial version with teh probe always in the down position, and antoher with it be retractable via the airbrake command...

Time will tell...

CAG out...

Which version did you download, what was the size of the download, did you follow the installation instructions to the letter, and what was the problem that it would not run? Also what type of system do you ahve and what are your specs for it?

PS - The version of FAF that is available is an old one, it does not include the winter version or the new shapes, etc which will be coming out next...
