is there an fairly easy way to get the nose tips of my CF-188As gold like all F/A-18 models??

Nope, not unless you know how to reshape it so the entire nose cone isnt recolored.

But if you dont mind having the entire nosecone recolored, then you can use the tip I listed in another post about making the shape visible again after recoloring it.

It SOMETIMES works, unless you end up with a huge shape, if that happens you are SOL as you dont have the knowledge to hex edit out the extraneous information from the shape to get it back down to size.

Here is my reshaped F-18C for FAF Korea (as you can see it has been reshaped and reskinned and has the small conical area you area talking about on the radar nosecone)...
