I am thinking about getting a new system powerful enough to play the new sims, such as MCFS3 and WOE/WOV. I still like to play FA once in a while, and just wanted to ask if anyone here runs FA on new systems with the new operating systems.

Thanks for the help,

avenger77th

PS: Anyone here play the WOE/WOV series by Third Wire?

Hello, I'm newly registered but I have a very high-end computer purchased recently, under Windows XP Home Edition, I can run FA just fine, aside from a little problem with the videos sometimes displaying incorrectly, gameplay wise it works just fine, but runs a lil too fast(I have a dual core CPU), but this was easily solved for me by using a program called winThrottle which is freeware and is designed to slow down your CPU for older games!

Newbies please do not attempt to give out advice when you dont have the game experience to do so...

FA will run fine on any systems using XP if you patch it wtih the 1.02F patch. This is a frame rate limiting patch and will keep the game running at a max of 52 FPS no matter how fast your processor is.

However, if you get VISTA then its up in the air as to whether your game will run properly or not. The issue with VISTA isnt cpu speed, its compatibility issues...

It is more a case of the video card and driver then any other issue when using VISTA, as long as you have the security interface shutoff.

So far as I know it'll run under vista. That's what I run now, and I haven't experienced any problems.

When was the last time you tried to fly it in multiplayer in VISTA?

That complicates things tremendously...

What CAG said . . . . just make sure you install the 1.02 patch and you should be okay. I have an AMD 3200+ and it works fine (after I installed the patch!).

hi all. just wanted to say that FA runs fine on vista no matter how good of a pc you have. i got core 2 quad 6600 + GeForce 8800GT and works ok on Vista with directx 10 installed. However there will be problems with the FA toolkit and multiplayer sections. For vista users disable UAC (user access control) and run the game as administrator. And CAG when are you gonna release FA futures??
