I am running FA 1.02f on Windows XP home edition. I have no custom libs just the regular game. Sometimes I will target an enemy sequoia or other plane and am about to fire a missile and my game crashes saying that it encountered problems and needed to close, the one with the report error button. I don't know what it is, any ideas?

90% of the time its improper installation. completly remove and reinstall the game. then patch to 1.02f. make sure its installed in the root drive mostly "c:\"

Installation location has nothing to do with game errors.

You can have multiple installations of FA at the same time on the same machine in multiple directories.

What is happeneing is that you are experiencing a stack overflow error. Once the memory cap is exceeded your game CTDs.

Your error may be due to many things. Corrupted libraries from the initial installation, a video card driver error, or simply bad memory.

To begin solving the issue, do uninstall FA and then reinstall.

Then keep a log of failures, and record exactly what you were doing at the time of the failure. What mission, what map, what items, etc...

Then repost those details here for us to help you solve the issues...

I am pretty sure the reinstall has fixed it... I will post here again if it happens again with a more detailed analysis. Just out of curiosity, what is a LIB?

Libs are Libraries that you add to the game to get different weapons, vehicles, aircraft, etc...

told you it was a bad installation. when you install something make sure you don't run anything. this will interfere with ur installation and cause data loss.
